Getting to know us

Kelly's Truck & Marine services provide repairs and service logistics to the truck, bus, marine and mining industries within Western Australia. We are an authorised Scania dealer and repairer for truck, bus, marine and industrial engines. We have all the equipment needed for repairs and services, including three fully equipped service vehicles. Thus, we can repair most problems on the road fast, for major problems, we can tow your vehicle to our workshop to complete the repair of your choice of repairer. We can carry out works such as; body chassis repairs and extensions, panel beating and repainting, engine rebuilding, transmission repairs and servicing, air conditioning repairs and installations, pneumatics systems, hydraulics, electrical, brakes, L.E.D. Conversions, fuel systems, power steering and P.T.O. units and much more. Our expertise with (Scania & Cummins) computer-controlled diesel engines is second to none with the speciality of fault code diagnostics, code interpretation, repairs and re-programming with the latest diagnostic equipment. At Kelly's, We can trace a fault code to a software or hardware level and test engine's computer wiring harness integrity and insulation with our cable diagnostic systems. We have a fully equipped workshop including specialised workshop tools, truck lift, engine stands and ultrasonic parts washing system. With a class 3 heavy-duty recovery and towing unit (with under lift system), we have the knowledge and means to recover and tow your truck, bus or road train vehicle to any location of choice.

History

Over fifty years ago John Kelly commenced his journey as an apprentice heavy-duty mechanical engineer; John gained skills and technical knowledge whilst working for an earthmoving and haulage company (manganese) later he moved to a “Chamberlain” agri-business dealership, gaining experience within the agricultural industry.

Appointed as workshop foreman for a Perth based brick & tile transport company for over five years. John moved to Geraldton to take up a position of service manager of a prominent local international harvester, truck & tractor dealership for ten years.

In late 1983, John decided to further his career by building his own business, thus: “Kelly’s Truck & Tractor (and Marine) Service” commenced trading in January 1984. For over 40 years, John has all of the experience of all types of Cummins engines and held a Cummins service and support dealership for over 15 years.

The staff at Kelly’s have a combined total of over 90 years of industry expertise and experience.

Over the years, Kelly’s have trained countless apprentices and today; we are still training apprentices, John’s former apprentices are holding management positions within leading companies and dealerships.
